Balance and Coordination

The proper structure and function of the spine and nervous system are critical for balance and coordination as we age.

Balance and Coordination

Our ability to hold our balance is essential to our ability to move. Without balance, we are unable to walk or perform much movement. As we age, our sense of balance can deteriorate, making us more susceptible to falls and accidents. 30% of adults over the age of 50 experience falls where their quality of life is impacted. This takes a toll on their personal lives. It can also become costly to pay for care and recovery after an accident occurs.

Fortunately, there are ways we can help optimize our balance even as we age to reduce the likelihood of these accidents occurring. Researchers found that chiropractic care could be highly beneficial. Especially in the case study of a 65-year-old male reporting balance and coordination issues. With chiropractic care, the patient reported better balance and coordination!

The reason why chiropractic care helps with our balance is through restoring optimal alignment to the spine and removing interference from the nervous system. When we restore the spine’s balance, the rest of the body feels it. We are better able to walk and move!

This means we can optimize the health that we carry with us as we age!
